Go Baggy With Paintball Gear Or Paintballs Will Sting

If you enjoy the sport of paintball, it can be a lot more enjoyable when you have the right clothes and paintball equipment. Although clothes are not going to make you more competitive, they can make the game safer and a lot more fun. If you’re familiar the sport and know what to purchase, that helps a lot. There are many qualified experts to consult with at brick and mortar paintball stores as well as online paintball stores. The most important piece of equipment to purchase for this rugged, tough, action-packed game is a good pair of goggles. Don’t try to substitute ski goggles or any other type of durable glass product. Paintballs travel at an enormous speed and you need industry-approved models that will protect your eyes.

Try to cover as much bare skin as possible as you are less likely to get hurt by paintballs when they hit. Long pants, long-sleeved shirts and even gloves will allow you to roll, crouch, slide, and do all the other essential moves safely. Paintball gear that is suited for the sport and, in most cases, especially designed for it, is your best bet. Wearing baggy outfits will help deflect some of the energy off of paintballs and will make them less likely to bruise or break on you. Unless it is extremely hot outside, it’s a good idea to wear an extra pair of leggings or long johns and even a long-sleeved undershirt to protect against paintball gun assault. Remember that camouflage is one of the best defenses against your enemies. Always wear dark clothes, and also dark on the bottom of your shoes, too. If your opponent takes five minutes to stare at a tree limb before they figure out it’s a person or not, you know you’re wearing the right clothing.

A good paintball supply store should be able to offer you everything you need in the way of camouflage equipment. Try to avoid clothing with buttons or zippers for any hard surfaces. Paintballs can break very easily against these types of surfaces. Wearing good, tough shoes is essential when you play the sport of paintball. Try to wear a pair of rugged running shoes or sneakers that you’re not afraid of getting dirty. They will also offer you solid ankle protection and good traction. Wear shoes that have very good traction, as you could lose the game if you slip and fall everywhere. If you bruise easily, you may want to consider investing in extra paintball equipment like some elbow pads, shin pads, cups for guys, and if you’re a female player, purchase a cushion bra. Paintball can be a lot of fun when you have the right paintball gear.

Tippmann X7 vs. Tippmann A5

The king of paintball has been dethroned…or has it. For years now new ballers and veteran ballers alike have had a special place in their hearts for the Tippmann A5 but the question on the street lately has been will the newest release from Tippmann, The Tippmann X7, conjure up the same cult following that the Tippmann A5 has enjoyed for years?

The king of paintball has been dethroned…or has it. For years now new ballers and veteran ballers alike have had a special place in their hearts for the Tippmann A5 but the question on the street lately has been will the newest release from Tippmann, The Tippmann X7, conjure up the same cult following that the Tippmann A5 has enjoyed for years?

For years now paintballin’ guys and gals alike that have just been getting into the sport have gone the A5 route due to its reliability, ease of use and of course the bang for the buck factor. Most people have held onto their beloved A5’s as they have progressed in their ability because of the A5’s ability to do the same. No matter what your skills are the A5 has the ability to adapt and grow right along with you (unless of course your skills have to do with speedball, that’s another story).

The recent release of Tippmanns X7 came with a lot of hype. It was the first release in history that was a collaboration between a manufacturer and an existing paintball retailer have joined forces to release a gun. The real question is whether or not a collaboration like this is for the best. There is quite a laundry lists of cons that come from a collaboration of this nature, one of the largest is limited mods.

Although Tippmann is claiming that there will be millions of different setups for the look of the actual gun, that is all banking on when Specops decides to release them, because they have exclusive rights to the mods for the X7. Now does "exclusive rights" mean that other manufacturers aren’t going to enter the market with some mods of their own, maybe, maybe not. I guess it all depends on the mood of the guys at Tippmann and Specops whether they decide to pursue legal action or not is up to them.

The biggest downside to the Tippmann X7 is the lack of control that the paintballers around the world have over the "non-commercialized" customization of the marker itself and that is really where the A5 is still far superior, there are thousands of ways already that you can customize your Tippmann A5 and there are no restriction as to who can jump in the market when they create something that is different and possibly cooler than the last guy had created.

With all that said our opinion on the Tippmann X7 is that it is overall a good gun. How can you go wrong with Tippmann Reliability right? A couple of the features that we liked the most about it is the scratch resistant plastic, which has gotten some mixed reviews and most especially we like the e-trigger options. Compared to the etrigger options on the A5 where you have to do a lot of holding the button down and waiting for the light to turn and then stand on your head and jump up and down on your left foot, the Tippmann X7 etrigger allows you to switch from safety, to single shot to fully auto while still have the option to fire in three round spurts. Even with all the politics surrounding the gun we feel it is a great gun for beginner to intermediate woodsball players.

Getting A Good Deal On A Cheap Electronic Paintball Gun

There are so many cheap electronic paintball guns on the market today that it can be a confusing choice to have to make. One of your options is to buy a second-hand electronic paintball gun of a good manufacturer that you know you can trust. That way you know you will be getting a quality product, but you will be getting it at a cheaper price because it is second-hand.

You can also choose to go for a new, but cheap electronic paintball gun, consider it cheap if it costs less than $150. The most unfortunate thing about going for a new cheaper paintball gun is that it may not be as reliable. It may well need to be fixed more often than an expensive model if you have to pay for someone to fix it, then your cheap electronic paintball gun may not turn out to be such a bargain after all.

If your electronic paintball gun does need repairs, by learning to fix it yourself you’ll get to know the weapon much faster. However, if time is of a essence, you’re better off making sure your marker as a warranty. Many used paintball guns will still include a warranty and new ones usually have one.

To find a cheap electronic gun, you will probably need to focus more on functionality rather than design. It’s a good idea to know before you purchase what you will be using your paintball marker for, and what exactly you’ll need your paintball marker to do. By focusing on the features that are important to you, you’ll find most gun makers will have some products in your price range.

Unfortunately, you can normally find a pump action paintball gun, or a semi automatic one, available at a lower price than you will an electronic paintball marker. Manufacturers have starter packages available, usually offered at a low price to get you started. Popular makes such as Spyder and Tippman are readily available as a package, which will usually include goggles, paintballs, and a marker.

You can also get second-hand deals on these packages as well. Shopping online will give you access to the wide array of manufacturers available. Stick with your price range of $100-$150 and you’ll find a package that will work for you, either new or used.

Review: Piranha Paintball Gun

The Piranha BL VF G3

The Piranha Bottom Line Vertical Feed G3 is a part of the Generation 3 line of paintball markers produced by PMI. Despite being on the bottom of the Piranha paintball gun line, the Piranha BL can still perform on the playing field. This gun is great for players who are just starting to get into the game of paintball.

The Piranha BL is priced at approximately $120, and this includes a set of o-rings, a spare hammer spring, a barrel plug and two Allen wrenches. The Piranha BL also comes with a one year warranty upon purchase.

The Piranha Pro TS G3

The Piranha Pro Tournament Series G3 is considered to be the ultimate paintball gun from the Piranha gun line. The Piranha Pro TS comes with an owner’s manual, a barrel plug, spare o-rings, three Allen wrenches, and a one year warranty.

The Piranha Pro TS is said to be the best looking paintball gun from the Piranha line. It comes in two distinct color styles: the white-blue-black and the white-green-black fade patterns. This marker’s anodizing is of outstanding quality and looks really professional on the field; however, such great anodizing does have some drawbacks. This marker will stand out in a crowd, drawing more attention to you. The colors used on the gun may also attract attention, giving away your position when playing woodsball TM where staying hidden is a requirement.

The Piranha Pro TS comes with the ‘Pure Energy’ regulator with a 1200 psi pressure gauge, a vertical ball feed, a low pressure chamber (Ram Air), a chrome ball detent, a beaver tail sight rail, a customized drop forward with a 10 degree bottom line adapter, a rear velocity adjuster, an air filter, and a 45 trigger frame made of aluminum.

The Piranha Pro TS holds its accuracy even up to a range of 105 feet. Most paintball guns will have their balls curve at an approximate range of 85 feet, but not the Piranha Pro TS. The Piranha Pro TS is also very consistent with its shot velocity. This consistency can be attributed to its ‘Pure Energy’ regulator. The constant velocity of the gun also contributes to the marker’s accuracy.

The Piranha Pro TS can be taken apart easily just like every other Piranha. The bolt can be easily removed for cleaning via the strip pin. The owner’s manual that comes with the gun also contains the steps on cleaning and maintaining the marker. This also includes instructions on how to disassemble, clean and readjust the regulator. It will only take you approximately 5 minutes to take apart, clean and reassemble the Piranha Pro TS’ bolt and striker assemblies.

The Piranha Pro TS is made with a very compact design and great balance, making it very easy to use and operate when in the field. The Pro TS is accurate, light and provides its user with an ability to quickly maneuver the gun when on the playing field.

The Piranha VTL G2

The Piranha VTL G2 is a good entry level paintball gun, and can be bought at a price ranging between $70 and $105. This marker is no longer being produced but can still be found in paintball gun sales for a very cheap price.

The Piranha VTL G2 has a Vertical Feed Bottle Adapter with a 45 grip and a double trigger frame. It has a raised sight rail and its internals are ceramic coated. This marker is made with a stainless steel valve and a built in power feed. It comes with a black finish and a one year warranty.

The Piranha VTL G2 is a very capable entry level gun. This gun has a lot of features and is sold at a very reasonable price. It can also be upgraded and modified with new regulators, nitro systems and barrels. It is made with a very clean design but is still a good looking paintball gun. It is also relatively easy to maintain and very easy to clean. One bad thing about the Piranha VTL is its stock barrel which has a rather poor accuracy rating, however, this can easily be remedied by replacing the barrel to increase your accuracy and range.

3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Paintball Co2 Tank

If you want to get the most out of your CO2 tank, there are three ways that you can get the most out of it in terms of operation, performance and life.

1. Install an On/Off valve. If your paintball tank has a normal pin valve, you are missing out on the convenience of having an on/off valve. With an on/off valve on your paintball tank you can screw in your tank, turn on the valve to gas your gun up, and then when you’re done, simply turn it off. When you turn of your CO2 tank, you can shoot the remaining CO2 left in the gun out. Shooting out the CO2 of your paintball gun will make it tons easier to unscrew the tank. One thing that is annoying about pin valve CO2 tanks is that when you unscrew them it will hiss CO2 out and may even ruin your o-ring on the tank in the process. Installing an on/off valve will help your o-rings last longer.

2. Install an anti-siphon kit to your CO2 tank. Installing an anti-siphon to your paintball CO2 tank will help you get the most out of CO2. The main problem with CO2 is that when it is inside your tank, it is often in liquid and gas form. Most paintball guns shoot horrible when liquid CO2 enters the gun. This will often cause the gun to ‘freeze up’ and have a drop in performance. An anti siphon kit will help make sure that just the gas is getting into the gun. This will improve your gun’s performance in terms of consistency from shot to shot.

3. To keep your CO2 tank scratch free and in pristine condition, you can buy a neoprene CO2 tank cover to cover your tank. It will protect it from dings and from normal wear and tear, and can even help your tank grip your shoulder a little better.

To get the most out of your CO2 tank an on/of valve will add convenience. You’ll be able to easily turn on and off the air to your gun, and you’ll also increase the life of your tank o-rings. An anti-siphon kit will help fuel your gun with CO2 gas, and not CO2 liquid. This will help your gun perform with better consistency. To protect your paintball tank and kept it looking brand new, a neoprene cover will keep your tank from getting scratches and dings from normal use.

How To Match The Right Sized Paintballs To Your Paintball Barrel

If you have one or two paintball barrels, and several options of paint it is a good idea to match the paint to your paintball barrel to see which brand of paint will fit better.

Having the right size of paintballs to use with your barrel is important. For one, you’ll have better accuracy, and for two you’re paintball gun will be more efficient.

Paintballs are said to be .68 caliber, but no one is perfect. Paintballs, depending on the brand, temperature, and other factors, tend to vary slightly in size. Some may be .689, some may be .681, and some may be anywhere in between. This little difference in size can have a large impact on your accuracy and efficiency. Having too big of paint for your barrel may cause more breaks. Too small of paint for your barrel may cause a drop in accuracy, and use up more air to push the paintball out of the barrel. It takes more air to push the paintball out because their will be air escaping around the paintball when the gun is shot. The gap between a paintball that is smaller than the barrel it is inside of will let some air escape by it. This means you would have to increase your velocity, and use more air.

To have better efficiency and accuracy, you’ll need to find a brand of paint that fits well in your barrel. To find just the right fit of paintball to your paintball barrel take a paintball and set on the opening of your barrel (make sure it’s the end that screws into your gun). If the paintball rolls all the way through, it’s too small. If it sits on top without going in at least halfway, it’s too big. The ideal fit is to have the paintball sit halfway into the barrel. While the paintball is in the barrel blow air into it like you would a blow gun. The paintball should fly out of the barrel like a dart. If you can’t blow it out, it’s too big. It shouldn’t take too much air to blow it out.

If no paintball fits, it’s a good idea to have a few paintball barrels that each have different bore sizes. Something like the Freak Kit or any other kit that comes with different size barrel inserts can be nice to have, as it helps you always to find the right fit for the paintballs you are shooting.

With the right paintball and barrel match you will have better accuracy, and better efficiency. You’ll be shooting straighter as well as getting more shots out of your paintball tank.

Review: Silver Bullet Paintball Gun

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet Paintball Gun is a fully automated marker. Priced at approximately $ 170 or $ 190, this marker comes in semi automatic, multi, turbo and full automatic firing modes. It has an adjustable rate of fire of 1 - 20 balls per second. It comes with an electronic trigger frame with an electronic safety. Its LCD screen displays the game time, the rate of fire adjustment and a shot counter. It is a double triggered marker, with a low pressure chamber. It has an expansion chamber, a 0-1200 PSI gauge, a Delran bolt (aluminum). It is a flame style drop forward marker, with a rear velocity adjuster and a tourney lock. It comes in black, blue and chrome and has a two year warranty.

The Psycho Ballistic Silver Bullet LCD has a well made stock barrel; however, you can upgrade it to an even better barrel. This paintball marker performs well if used with compressed air instead of CO2. The trigger pull is also rather soft, so one might need to adjust it a little to prevent the trigger from jiggling. The sight rail can also be considered rather ineffectual. If you use a psycho Ballistics silver Bullet LCD, you might want to a purchase a hopper that is quick enough to keep up with the marker’s rate of fire to avoid having to waste a lot of time clearing paint off your marker’s barrel.

The LCD display on this paintball marker is backlit; this makes it difficult to see during the day but is good for playing at night. This can sometimes be a disadvantage when playing in daylight since it can be difficult to tell whether the paintball marker’s electronic safety is turned on or off. This marker also takes up a lot in terms of power, so you have to be sure to keep a spare battery around when using this marker. This marker’s buttons are great for changing the gun’s settings; this is one of the advantages of using this paintball marker.

A great thing about the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet paintball marker is its quick release pin. This feature makes cleaning the gun very easy. However, the Allen wrench that comes with the marker does not seem to suit all the parts of the gun. You will need to buy supplementary tools for you to be able to work on your Silver Bullet. The bolt also tends to scratch the paintball marker’s internal parts, so you will need to have the bolt well oiled, or better yet, you can replace it with a new bolt.

The paint used to color the frame is also known to flake off. The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet paintball gun’s solenoid might also cause you a bit of trouble. Another downside to this gun is that the manual is not at all helpful and the customer service support is just about average.

The Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet paintball gun has a lot of built in features; however, it will do you well to make a few upgrades. Getting a faster hopper is a must. This paintball marker is suitable to use with Spyder threads so you have a wider range of options when it comes to barrel upgrades. The marker’s grip, which is made of plastic, may also need replacing; however, you might have to make a few adjustments to be able to replace the grip. Using Nitrogen/HPA will allow you to use your Silver Bullet at its best. You may also need to purchase a rechargeable batter and a charger since this paintball marker is known to drain batteries at a high rate. Getting a spare battery will make your life a whole lot easier.

Summing it all up, the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD paintball gun shoots really fast. It also looks cool. This gun will give you a decent performance right out of the box. However, despite all the good features of the Silver Bullet, you can still get a fully automated paintball gun that is better than the Psycho Ballistics Silver Bullet LCD paintball gun for a price similar to the price range of the Silver Bullet.

Is Airsoft Better Than Paintball?

This question is bound to stir debate and controversy amongst the most ardent of airsoft or paintball fans.

Both airsoft and paintball are both hobbies based on replica firearms and wargames. Is this unhealthy? That depends moreso on the person themselves rather than the hobby. An interest in pursuing a hobby that involves weaponry only becomes unhealthy if taken to extremes - which is true of most things in life. Paintball and airsoft are not morbid hobbies and only run the risk of being dangerous when participated in by dangerous people.

Paintball itself is a more mobile sport. It requires a certain level of physical fitness, mobility and skill - if you paintball then you gotta be able to move fast. The weapons themselves are functional and are only designed to serve the purpose of the sport as opposed to looking good. Paintball rifles are designed to take a real beating when it comes to their use. Paintball fans fall into the ‘extreme sport’ category and enjoy the pure adrenaline of each paintball match and are driven by the desire to win.

Airsoft is a somewhat different sport. The guns used in airsoft are both conversation pieces and are also functional sports ‘weapons’. Airsoft rifles and pistols are capable of firing both small plastic pellets and paint filled pellets so are useful both in the sport itself and also for backyard target practice.

The major difference is the power of the guns themselves. Paintball guns are driven by high powered gas cylinders whereas airsoft guns fire projectiles either through springs, electronic firing mechanisms or with compressed gas. The issue is that most airsoft guns lack the range and accuracy of the larger paintball guns simply because they were never designed with long range fire in mind.

Conversely airsoft guns are available in a huge range of styles and models. Everything from a Glock handgun to a sniper rifle to a CAR15 assault rifle. Airsoft guns are equally at home hanging in your livingroom or at use on the airsoft playing field. You can even go as far as buying an airsoft minigun. Many airsoft fans simply collect the guns and never get involved in airsoft wargames at all. This is the much the same as many sword collectors - they display the weapons at home but don’t go running around waving them at people.

The truth is that neither airsoft nor paintball is superior. They’re both a case of personal preference. If you’re the extreme sports type then paintball will suit you more. If you’re more of a collector then airsoft will be more you thing.

Regardless of whether you’re a paintball fan or an airsoft fan it’s essential to take proper safety precautions when using these guns. Proper eye protection in the form of safety goggles should always be worn and suitable protective clothing to cover your neck and upper torso should also be worn. Even though some people see these as guns as toys they are capable of causing injury either through accident or even deliberate malice.

Understanding Paintball Gun Hoppers

One of the components of a paintball gun is the hopper. The hopper is the location where your paintballs will be held until you decide to shoot them. Why bother talking about this subject?

It is rather easy to see that different variations will provide different results. When it comes to choosing the right paintball gun for your needs, you will need to take into consideration the hopper’s ability to meet those needs.

There are several different variations of paintball gun hoppers. Most of the time, you will have a gun that is feed based on agitating, force feed or those that work with gravity. These methods are all unique. If you have an agitating or a force feed hopper, you may find that your gun doesn’t give you the security you need. These often fail in the worst of times. Most of the time, this is caused by your paintball gun’s battery getting wet, which stops everything in its tracks. Yet, the good thing about these types of hoppers is that they offer the highest rate of fire possible, perhaps making up for their failings here.

Other hopper choices are out there. The Tippman A-5, for example, has a cyclone feed. This hopper does not use batteries. Instead, it is equipped with a CO2 tank (or nitrogen.) They work by the feeder rotating internally. This then loads the paintball into the breech. It happens just as the bolt clears. This makes it quite efficient of a choice in hoppers.

As for gravity style hoppers, you have the most basic of abilities here. These work by having a 90 degree angle designed into them so that the feed flows perpendicular to the actually paintball gun. This does not offer the same amount of shots per second, some in some cases it may not be worth the cost. Yet, as it does not use batteries to power it, it is less likely to fail you when you do not want it to.

Choosing the right hopper for your paintball gun is important. The problem is that with the better technology also comes increased price, of course. Yet, you can find ideal paintball guns that work fairly well for a decent price if you take the time to compare models significantly. You are likely to find the most significant hopper choices offered on the web or in your local specialty shop.

Get The Best Paintball Guns Right Here

Paintball Tips & Tactics from Westworld Paintball | Fanster.com …
Shoot in bursts because not every paintball will break when your target is hit. Then, get back into a defensive position. Fire at anything that is sticking out or exposed. That includes the gun, hopper, feet, visors, etc. …

Paintball gun turret - Hack a Day
A high capacity feeder could easily be made by modifying existing force-fed paintball hoppers. Just about all of them will be more than adequate to consistently feed paintballs. Posted at 9:37 am on Feb 27th, 2009 by Striker9 …

DIY Paintball Turret Keeps Kids Away By Firing 38 Paintballs Per …
Low end would consist of semi automatic markers like a stock Tippmann 98, or a really cheap Spyder–Not to mention Walmart paintball guns. Plus, to get a hopper to feed that fast, you need something better than a Viewloader, …

BT TM-7 Mil-Sim Paintball Gun
The BT TM-7 shoots 20 balls a second, so if you do get it your going to need a fast enough hopper like a Halo or Dye Rotor. If neither of those are in your gear bag, and you have yet to buy a fast paintball loader, check out the Pinokio …
